Temporary Atlas: Mapping the Self in the Art of Today

Temporary Atlas: Mapping the Self in the Art of Today presents a selection of works that explore an alternative, complementary idea to cartography, the traditional science or practice of drawing maps.

The 17 cartographer-artists of Temporary Atlas investigate their perceptions using a traditional approach to mapping but expand it along unconventional paths. They reflect upon identity, spirituality, the subconscious, emotions, physical and mental sensation, and challenge the methods and rules we use to interpret such maps.

The Welsh Group

The Welsh Group is an artists' collective, with the purpose of exhibiting and "giving a voice" to the visual arts in Wales.

The Welsh Group is one Wales' most established and respected group of artists. It was founded in 1948 as the South Wales Group which at that stage consisted of both professional and amateur artists from south Wales' six leading art societies. However, by 1975 it had radically changed, becoming a professional only collective renaming itself The Welsh Group: Y Grŵp Cymreig.

Modern Relics | Amba Sayal-Bennett, Tim Ellis, James Lomax & Emma Papworth

FOLD is pleased to present Modern Relics a group show of artists working predominantly in sculpture. The work serves as imaginary artifacts, scavenged and excavated from contemporary culture and urban environments. Elements of classical architecture, modern cityscape, geometry and archaeological finds have been reformulated in order to question preconceived ideas relating to architecture, material, and the art historic canon.
