The Createspace Wales residency gives artists the opportunity to step out of their everyday lives and into a new and fresh environment, providing time and space to allow creative ideas and thought processes to flow. Here you can focus and fully immerse yourself in your work, free from the constraints of your normal routines. 

Our converted barn provides space for artists; painters, illustrators, sculptors, writers, designers, makers to spend time in the peaceful, beautiful countryside, just two miles from the sea. We have a bright modern open plan studio for our permanent and visiting resident artists. Alongside this we have a comfortable cabin-style self-contained accommodation with all you need for your stay..

The west coast of Wales is the perfect place to explore your creativity, surrounded by inspiring landscapes, ranging from vast breathtaking views to smaller more intimate natural spaces. Within walking distance you can head to the wild and rugged coastline with it’s beautiful empty beaches and coves. Further inland there are enchanting ancient woodlands, waterfalls, rivers and streams, and with countryside all around, and the Preseli hills nearby, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to stimulating places to explore. The nearby Welsh town of Cardigan is full of coffee shops, eateries, an arthouse theatre and other places that may be of interest.

The residency is for a minimum of one week, although we recommend at least two weeks to fully benefit from the experience. Artists can join us for upto a month, occasionally more, and it is open throughout the year. You will be included on our website and social media, and there may also be the opportunity to take part in a group exhibition in the future following your time at Createspace.
