Join us for an immersive film essay curated collectively by Come the Revolution, followed by an in-conversation between members of the group.

Societal constructions of Black women, reflected in cinematic culture, present us with hyper notions of gender identity, from the mama figure of Oprah Winfrey, to the supposed 'masculinity' of Serena Williams.

Watch over 200 bold and creative short films made by young artist filmmakers.

The award-winning short films that feature in this interactive exhibition have been created by 16-24 year-olds from all over England, including many young filmmakers from Bristol.

Showcasing a wide variety of talent and creativity on a first come first served basis, we are offering film makers a place to show their work. Everyone is welcome: professional artists, amateur film makers/ animators or members of the community with stories to tell. We anticipate screening upwards of 5 short films, which will be previewed by GWRANDO to ensure suitability. They must be under 15 mins long and on DVD (formatted for a DVD Player) or as an mp4.

Film submissions from 6.30pm

Open to all ages and abilities
