Land Acts presents the work of five artists, collectively exploring the power of land and contemporary, rural experience.
The featured artists work closely with individuals and communities through their artistic practices to consider the connection and potential between land use and local economies, class, climate change, education and food production.

Forest + Found: Walking the line

Studio practice Forest + Found presents a new exhibition of work by the collaborative artists Max Bainbridge and Abigail Booth. Working alongside one another, Booth and Bainbridge tread the line between art and craft, crossing between contemporary art practices and the traditions of craftsmanship, as they navigate the changing context of the maker.

The Smell of Cap Guns by Gustavius Payne

Gustavius Payne is a Welsh figurative artist, born and living in Merthyr Tydfil. This exhibition marks his 50th year.

His diverse imagery draws from mythology and folk-lore, alongside ecological and political concerns, drawing the viewer into a fascinating reflective world, set in the post-industrial Welsh Valleys.

The exhibition’s title draws reference to the memories of a child’s youthful innocence, coloured with a particular set of cultural values.

Join the artist on Thursday, 27th June at 5pm for an informal “Meet The Artist” event.

ON EMPTINESS | Oliver Perkins & Patrick Lundberg

Nothingness is in reality a mirage, in a tripartite sense that it assumes the horizon of perception, represents a reverse image of the real, and is the expression of a desire at the heart of a reality that does not lend itself to it. It vanishes therefore when consciousness seeks to approach and thematise it. 1

The disappearance of the object does not only exclude but also reveals the presence of the world as the background against which all objects appear. 2

Theresa Taylor and Nigel Morris: Spatiality

An insight into the working practices of two printmakers who have previously shown together and have an ongoing artistic relationship. Theresa and Nigel’s continued interest in print developed together through exhibiting and art appreciation.

This combined exhibition sees the artists explore and examine spatiality from their own unique viewpoints and practices. Alongside individual work, collaborative pieces will be presented as part of this show in the form of several blended prints.
