All The Things I've Lied About

Fringe First Award winner Katie Bonna is giving a TED talk on the science of lying. Well, that’s not quite true. TED haven’t actually asked her to give a talk – yet.

In this comic exploration of her past mistakes and inevitable future disasters, Katie unpicks how everyday lies can lead to a world of Trump and Brexit. Part TED talk, part confession, this is a fearlessly honest show for the post-truth era.

Y Twr

Y Tŵr explores the journey of two people bound together through life’s all too brief struggle, from youth to old-age, from love to despair, from desire to disillusionment. An intense and searching opera from the UK’s leading new opera company and the Welsh-language national theatre company, based on the work of one of Wales’ most important playwrights. Personal and universal. Particular and timeless.

Sung in Welsh with English surtitles.

How My Light Is Spent

Every Wednesday evening, Jimmy calls Kitty. For precisely nine minutes. At £1.20 a minute.

My Country

My Country; a work in progress; in the words of people across the UK and Carol Ann Duffy

In the days after the EU referendum, the National Theatre began a nationwide listening project to hear people’s views of the country and town they live in, their lives, their future, and the referendum. Using exact words taken from the interviews, My Country puts those conversations centre stage in this new production.

Bridget Christie : Because You Demanded It

The UK have voted to leave the EU, even though no-one had a plan for what would happen if it did. If you didn’t want to leave the EU, or you did, but now don’t, because you haven’t got any of the things you were promised, then this is absolutely the show for you.

If you did want to leave the EU, and still do, then you will still find it funny, but for different reasons, as you witness the liberal female comedian’s exasperated and despairing meltdown.

National Theatre Connections 2017

This is a celebration of young people, theatre-making and the importance of access to the arts. Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow.

We welcome 6 groups from across South Wales alongside our own Sherman Youth Theatre, who between them will perform 5 of the plays over three days.

With 28 local festivals taking place across the country, Connections is an unforgettable feast of theatre made by and for young people.
