Cardiff s pub theatre The Other Room, located in Porter s, has announced its second season, which features productions by two exciting young companies; all-female company, otherMother and difficult|stage. From the theatre that presented The Dying of Today and A Good Clean Heart during their first season, The Other Room also presents Your Room as part of their second. Hundreds of local artists, over six weeks are invited to make work in the theatre - including scratch performances, masterclasses and pop up events.

With a theme ofBlue Sky , the season underlines The Other Room s ambition to be a new, exciting and innovative voice within the cultural landscape of Cardiff. Artistic Director Kate Wasserberg said,The idea behindBlue Sky is simple. We are throwing open the doors and inviting the artists of Wales in. The sheer range of this season is thrilling, as we flood our little stage with hundreds of voices from this brilliant city. This is what The Other Room was made for, and we are very proud to be a home to the artists of the future.

The 'Blue Sky' season will open with Blud, the first production from otherMother. Blud is a powerful and authentic exploration of the call for war in a town defined by football, written by Wales Drama Award 2014 winner Kelly Jones.

Throughout October and November, there will be a programme of activity including scratch performances, pop-up events and the Blue Sky Artists Festival that will make up Your Room. Kate explains:Your Room is six weeks of anarchic and joyous activity where we open our doors to hundreds of artists from Cardiff and beyond. Blue Sky Scratch will be a series of work-in-progress performances, there will be a number of pop-up events all conceived in the adventurous spirit of the Blue Sky season, and following the success of our Young Artists Festival, we are delighted to announce the Blue Sky Artists Festival, a week of master classes and collaboration open to artists interested in working together to make fresh and exciting work within Wales. Essentially, Your Room will be a chance for audience and artists to meet, exchange ideas and share the creative process.

The Other Room s 'Blue Sky' season will culminate with Alix in Wundergarten (1 19 December), a new production from difficult|stage which will be The Other Room s very first Christmas show.

The Other Room s second season will also feature variousTOR Presents events, including creative team members in conversation, guest speakers and cast talkbacks.
